Konrad O. Spillmann

Konrad O. Spillmann is a martial arts grandmaster with over 55 years of experience. He has attained a ninth degree black belt and first-class master level certification. He teaches martial arts and character development at GMA.[1]

Early life and training

Spillmann began training in martial arts at the age of four to overcome health and focus challenges, studying judo and korean karate.[2] Konrad later studied with master Myung in 1989.[3]

He went on to teach martial arts, self defence, and has worked with the military, law enfornforcement, and youths[2].

Career

Spillmann has been involved in martial arts instruction for over three decades. He holds high ranks in Taekwon-Do under WTJF and ITF, Hapkido, Karate, and blackbelt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu[2].[4]

Spillmann started studying Hapkido in 1989 in Aliso Viejo under Grandmaster Kwang Sik Myung before establishing himself as an instructor[3]. In 1997, a team from his school participated in the All-American Open Martial Arts Expo in San Marcos, where 15 students were placed in sparring groups.[5]

In 2016, a team of two students trained by Konrad won a combined 4 gold and 1 silver medals for GMA.[6]

Master Spillmann has also written several business manuals and a martial arts business book to help other school owners teach, structure and run professional academies.[2] He has also held leadership roles in martial arts organizations and an advisory position in a university board[2].

Teaching

Spillmann started teaching martial arts in an academy at Aliso Viejo, California. He then relocated to Gallatin, Tennessee, where Global Martial Arts USA was founded.
