Thembalethu Phumlani Dlamini (born 28 April 2001), better known by his stage name Kordi Scars, is a South African rapper, songwriter and record producer. Born in Johannesburg, a large zone of Gauteng in South Africa
Early life[edit]
Thembalethu Phumlani Dlamini was born April 28, 2001 in Johannesburg, Gauteng.He is originally from Durban a city in the KZN province. He grew up in Johannesburg. Thembalethu lived with his grandmother but later moved to Johannesburg CBD where his mother lived at the moment. He went to Phoenix College of Johannesburg for his primary and high school.
Career[edit]
Kordi began to develop himself as an artist in At the age of 16 and started to record his music and uploading it on soundcloud and ReverbNation. He did not like the idea of being signed by a record label because he liked being independent, he got this inspiration goal from Chance the Rapper who is also independently controlling his own music. After 3 months he got his first gig at a local bar and a second the following week. He uses CD Baby to distribute his music but it Is only available on the CD Baby Store. His first track was produced by Slick-felloe, "Victory", was released early 2018.
Musical style[edit]
Kordi's music has been described as a "cool" grunge, hip-hop.Jon Caramanica of The New York Times described Kordi as "an artist who toes the line between singing and rapping.
Kordi cites Travis Scott and Nasty C, in whom he became interested around the age of 15, as an influence on his music, calling the two " geniuses".
Artistry[edit]
Scars has cited several hip hop artists as influencing his rapping stle including Travis Scott, lil Mosey, 6lack, Drake, Tyga, Nasty C, Tellaman, K.O and Chance The Rapper while also attributing various R&B artists as influential to the incorporation of the genre into his own music, including Usher, Chris Brown and Jason Derulo.

Scar Sound Music[edit]
In November 13 2018 Kordi Scars established his own record label and operates as the CEO and President of the label. He is the only artist signed but promised his fans that he will sign new artist in order to make other people's dreams come true.
