Kosovar Sadiki (born August 27, 1998) is a Canadian soccer player who currently plays as a Defender for Finn Harps, on loan from Hibernian.
Career
Youth
Born in Moers, Germany, Sadiki moved to Ontario, Canada at the age of 1.[2][1] His father was born in Kosovo and he is of Albanian descent.[2][1] Sadiki's grandparents fled from Beliq Ferizaj, Kosovo, to Canada.[2] He would spend two years in the academy of Premier League side Stoke City from 2014 to 2016.[3] In 2015, he represented Canada in the CONCACAF U-17 Championship in Honduras.[4][5] He played in the game against Mexico, in which the teams came to a draw.[6] In 2017, Sadiki played for Canada in a U-23 friendly in Scotland.[7] In 2018, he played in the Toulon Tournament in France for the Canada U-21 team.[2][8] At the time, he was playing for NK Lokomotiva in Zagreb, Croatia.[8]
Professional
Hibernian
After signing for Croatian club NK Lokomotiva in February 2018, Sadiki would trial for a number of clubs in England, Scotland and Europe. Sadiki would trial with Scottish Premiership club Hibernian in December 2018, and they would secure his transfer from Lokomotiva in January 2019.[1][9]
Finn Harps
In January 2020, Hibernian announced that Sadiki would be loaned to League of Ireland Premier Division club Finn Harps for the 2020 season.[10][11][12]
International
Sadiki is eligible to play internationally for Germany, Albania, Kosovo and Canada.[1][13] He would make his debut for Canada at the U-15 level in 2014, and would further represent Canada at the U-17, U-20 and U-23 levels.[14][15]
