Koto Bhoot! Ki Adbhut! (Bengali: কত ভূত! কি অদ্ভুত!) is a Bengali horror-comedy short story collection book about the fictional protagonist Batuk Babu. The book is written by Suman Sen[1][2] and published by Barnik Prakashon.[3][4] The book contains eight short stories.[5] It was published in November 2017, at Bardhaman Little Magazine Fair.[6][7] It is the debut book by the author.[8]

Marketing[edit]
On September 19, 2017, a short story named Drug was published on the web magazine Abeksan Patrika (Sharod Sankalan),[9] where the character Batuk Babu from this book had a special appearance.[10] On September 21, 2017; one of the stories from this book, Nemesis has been published on another web magazine Sobder Michil (Utsab Sankalan).[11] Both of these acted as a promotional activity for this book.[12][13]
The story Nemesis has been also published in Pratilipi Bengali.[14]
25-word story-writing competition[edit]
A competition was organized by Barnik Prakashon to write micro-stories about the protagonist of Koto Bhoot! Ki Adbhut!, Batuk Babu; the story must not cross the limit of 25 words.[15]
Reception[edit]
The book is one of the bestselling book of Barnik Prakashon.[16][17]
After publishing the story "Nemesis" at Sobder Michil (Utsab Sankalan), the story became most read story of that day,[18] as well as the most read and most shared story of that edition.[6]
After publishing the stories Nemesis and Koborkhana from the book, it got 4 stars and 3.8 stars out of five in Pratilipi.[19][20]
Subankar Chowdhury from Barnik Patrika compared the character Batuk Babu to Satyajit Ray's Tarini Khuro and praised the stories "Bhoot Goyenda Shambhunath", "Sei Sondhay" and "Konkaler Kelenkari".[21]
