Kristin Rogers Brown is a graphic designer.
Biography[edit]
Kristin Rogers Brown was born in Chicago.[1] In 1994, Brown graduated with a degree in studio art from Kenyon College and received a Grad Certificate in 1999 from the Denver Publishing Institute.[2]
From 2004 to 2011 she served on the AIGA Portland board, first as membership chair and then vice president.[2] She has worked with sustainable design and design community initiatives for a variety of clients, including AIGA Portland's sustainability team (established in 2008) and social change initiatives, Worldstudio's Urban Forest Project, and Design Week Portland.[3] In 2012, Brown served on the advisory board and co-organizing the opening party and publication showcase to help launch Design Week Portland.[2]
Brown joined Bitch Media in 2010 as the art director. She has collaborated with illustrators and comics artists such as Mimi Pond, Jen Sorensen, Elisha Lim, Kate Bingaman Burt, Angie Wang, and Meg Hunt to provide artwork for the organization. She later left the media company in 2018.[4] In addition to her work with Bitch, she continues to consult with Bear Deluxe[5] and website, with multiple cover designs featured by Utne and the Print Regional Design Annual.
In 2018, Brown became the Department Head of Graphic Design at Pacific Northwest College of Art after being an assistant professor of Illustration Advanced Studio.[2][6]
