Kukun is a property data and predictive analytics company from the United States, formed in 2014 and located in Menlo Park, with operations in selected markets including California, Florida, Texas, New York, and Washington D.C. [1]

Their work focuses on predicting costs and developing budgets required by homeowners, to undertake home construction, repair or remodeling projects, to do it themselves or by hiring contractors, giving an idea of the scope of the return on investment (ROI) possible.[2]

History[edit]

Kukun was launched in 2014 by Raf Howery and Jean-Louis Ledanois, with the aim of bringing home remodeling online. The company founder Raf Howery recognized that “the home renovation industry had a lack of transparency and it was fragmented”, for those reasons, using his knowledge of cloud orchestration, SaaS and solutions, he started the Kukun company.[3]

The company’s remodeling cost estimator was launched in 2015. The data for creating estimates comes from previous renovations, construction projects and related expenses. In the beginning, this information was presented as a "Cost vs. Value" report. The structure of its estimator is simpler today.[4]

Company[edit]

Estimator Technology[edit]

The estimator program's algorithms incorporate many kinds of project data, gathering information related to location, materials, level of finishes and type of project, all for the purpose of determining the ability of a homeowner to afford a real estate project.[4]

The company developed a version of the estimator available for iOS in the App Store, and for Android on Google Play.[5]

Allied Corporations[edit]

Kukun has collaborated with other companies as banks and realtors[6], giving them access to its estimator to help them with customer necessities. Their clients include PNC,[7] SoFi,[8] Chase,[9] Harry Norman Realtors[10] and Jerry.ai Insurance[11]
