Kunal Sharma (born 17 Oct, 1993) also known by the name Tinku, is an Indian writer, poet, lyricist and creative professional in the Indian Entertainment Industry. His work has included songwriting, lyric writing, cinematography, direction, and storytelling. He is the younger brother of Indian singer-songwriter, and rapper Moksha Amman.
His screen credits include Trouvaille – The Travel Show (2019), Dil Tod Ke (2022), and Ram Ram Ram (2024).
In 2026, Sharma won an international story-writing contest organized by Canadian publishing company Off Topic Publishing for his short story The Park Wasn't Ours.
Early life and family
Kunal was born in Delhi to a Brahmin family. He was raised in East Delhi, neighbourhood of Delhi, where he completed his school education at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Vigyan Vihar, Delhi. During his school years, he also attended the National School of Drama's Theatre-in-Education (TIE) Workshop, where he received early exposure to theatre and performance.
He later attended the University of Delhi, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, studying English, political science and education.
Career
Kunal Sharma began his career in the entertainment industry, working across filmmaking, music and visual storytelling. His early work included assignments in cinematography and direction, followed by work in songwriting and lyric writing.
In 2019, Sharma worked as a cinematographer on Trouvaille - The Travel Show, a travel programme. He later served as an associate director on Dil Tod Ke in 2022.
In 2024, Sharma worked as a lyricist and topline composer on Ram Ram Ram, contributing to the project's musical and lyrical development. His work has subsequently expanded into literary writing and fiction.
