Kylan Guerra (born May 15, 1997) is an American / Puerto Rican professional basketball player for the Mets de Guaynabo (basketball) of the Baloncesto Superior Nacional Puerto Rico Pro League. He previously played for the Indios de Mayaguez (basketball).
High School Career[edit]
Raised in Greenburgh, New York, Guerra played high school basketball at Archbishop Stepinac High School in White Plains, New York. He played one season of Prep School Basketball at The Kent School after spending 4 years at "Stepinac”. He averaged 24.9 points per game as a senior at Stepinac and helped his team to the CHSAA Playoffs. He was a consensus All Catholic High School Athletic Association Selection and was named to the All-State Team in New York. Kylan was also the recipient of the Con Edison Scholar-Athlete Award.[1] At Kent, Kylan was named to the All-New England Team and selected as a Top 75 Player. On the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) circuit, he won a National Championship with the Riverside Church Hawks, and also played with New Heights - NYC.
College Career[edit]
Kylan committed to Philadelphia University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. As a freshman, Guerra was named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Year. He was also selected to the All-Tournament Team for the Postseason. After a merger in his second year, Phila U changed its name to Thomas Jefferson University, but kept the "Rams" as their Mascot.[2] As a sophomore, he led his Jefferson Rams to a CACC Conference Championship. He was also selected to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference All-Academic Team. As a Junior, he was selected to the All CACC Conference Second Team. Again, he made the All-Academic Team. As a Senior, Guerra joined the 1500/500/500 Club (points/assists/rebounds). He was selected to the All CACC Conference First team, and was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Player of the Year.[3] Several Postseason honors followed. Guerra was named to the All East Region First Team; All Eastern District First Team and was named as a National Association of Basketball Coaches All-American.[4] [5] Before graduating from Jefferson, Guerra was named The Philadelphia Inquirer Performer of the Year, edging out Saddiq Bey from Villanova University.
Pro Career[edit]
Kylan Guerra entered the 2020 Draft for the Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN) in Puerto Rico, and was selected by the Mets de Guaynabo (basketball) with the tenth pick in the third round.[6][7]The Mets played a shortened season in 2020, in a "Bubble" at the Westin Resort in P.R. The Mets finished in the Final 4, losing to the eventual Champion Vaqueros de Bayamon (basketball). In 2021, Guerra signed a free agent contract with the Indios de Mayaguez (basketball). Before the Trade Deadline, he was sent back to the Mets de Guaynabo. The Mets were defeated in the 2021 Finals by the Capitanes de Arecibo.[8]

Kylan's sister Korina, played College Basketball at Sacred Heart University, Dominican College (New York) and Adelphi University.
