The LITIengine is a free and open-source 2D Java game library.[3] Created by brothers Matthias and Steffen Wilke,[4] it natively supports the operating systems Windows, Linux, and MacOS due to its Java nature.[5] LITIengine omits the use of graphics APIs such as OpenGL or Vulkan and instead provides a 2D rendering engine entirely based on Java AWT.[6] Rendering occurs on a Canvas component.[7]
