LKFFCT (alternately Lake Effect) is an American rock group from New Jersey.

History[edit]

LKFFCT is a four-piece indie rock group from Montclair, New Jersey, that formed in 2012.[1] Legentil, Rauch, and Williams were previously in the band Washington Square Park, who released one full-length album and three EPs. LKFFCT's music is described as "power-pop meets slacker-rock," and Alan Cross calls them "wild and eclectic."[2][3] Their first release Lake Effect was on December 9, 2012, followed by the three-track EP Genuine Bonds on October 17, 2013.

Sniffling Indie Kids[edit]

At the foundation of the independent label Sniffling Indie Kids in 2014, LKFFCT contributed the song "Sally" for its first release, Space Jamz: 5 Bands 1 Practice Space. The concept album American Sarcasm was released on March 25, 2015.[4] LKFFCT's second full length, entitled The Flower Investment Pawn, contains pop-punk riffing and crunchy hardcore accents.[5] LKFFCT first performed at the 2016 North Jersey Indie Rock Festival, and continued to at 2017 and 2018 festivals.[6]

Their 2017 album Dawn Chorus incorporates lap guitar, saxophone and trumpet.[3] The four-track EP Cayenne was released on April 5, 2018, and was recorded live.[7][8]
