LLC is the second studio album from the American rock band Deal Casino.

Content[edit]

The nine-track alternative rock album was self-released on vinyl and digital download, on 16 November 2018. The album was recorded in twelve days, at a residential studio the band repaired, located in North Carolina, and it is produced and engineered by Erik Kase Romero, with additional engineering by Anthony Yebra. Mixing is by Tim Pannella, and mastering is by Philip Shaw Bova.[1] Album artwork and photography is by Cody Cutter, with layout that is by Stephen Omark. It features more prominent synthesizers, than in previous Deal Casino records.[2] The album draws comparison to the music of the pop rock band the Beatles, the experimental rock band Radiohead, and the post-Britpop band Coldplay. The opening song "Color TV" is about despression, and its impact on lovers and friends, and "Happy People" is about a man suffering from loneliness, in an enlarging, apathetic world.[1]

The music video for "French Blonde" was released on 26 September 2018, and it is shot in black-and-white, at a junkyard near Long Branch, New Jersey. It contains French subtitles and minimal choreography, and footage of Joe P getting a tattoo, smoking, and dancing to the song.[2] The music video for "Father's Day" was released on 14 November 2018, and is shot in front of a wall of over one-hundred televisions, with synchonized VHS images.[3] It is directed by Anthony Yebra.

Reception[edit]

A review in New Jersey Stage says "the bridge of "Color TV" is great, and the chorus is best of all as it keenly illustrates the pleasure and the pain at the core of the conflict within the song." They describe the song "Marley" as a "funky, quirky nugget [with] layers and layers of haunting atmospherics contrast a sweet sing-song melody and bouncy beat."[1] New Noise describes the song "French Blonde" as being "very gritty with its trudging, sliding bass line[,] vocals [that] are rather ominous, as an eerie drone behind the drums. The song's melodic harmonies shine in the chorus, breathing life and energy into the dissonance."[4]
