La Collectionneuse (Los Angeles)

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

La Collectionneuse is a mobile francocentric movie screening series in Los Angeles started by Kalyane Lévy[1]. The screenings are often paired with thematically related performances from musicians, sometimes with Q&A’s from directors, and always drinks and conversation after. La Collectionneuse used to operate predominantly out of Cinefamily on Fairfax before that theater closed due to scandal. Now, La Collectionneuse is housed out of Zebulon Cafe Concert in East LA, with occasional events at other theaters, including Bob Baker Marionette Theater, the Egyptian, The Downtown Independent, and The Vista among others. They have collaborated with other mobile movie screening series including El Cine (Latinx screenings) and Secret Movie Club (35 mm screenings). Depending on the venue, tickets to La Collectionneuse events can be free (price at Zebulon) or up to $20 dollars (price at Dynasty Typewriter LA). The first recorded event on their website was on 4/24/2015 at Cinefamily.
