Tolu Adewunmi Ibitola (born 28 August 1982) is a Nigerian Public Administrator and the Chief of staff to the Ekiti State Government appointed by Kayode Fayemi on 9 May 2022 after the resignation of Mr Biodun Omoyele.[1][2][3]

Childhood and Family[edit]
Ibitola was born in Lagos, Nigeria, on 28 August 1982 to Victoria Oyindamola Ibitola and Femi Ilesanmi Ibitola. He grew up with 3 siblings and spent the early part of his childhood in Nigeria before moving to Scotland to study.
Education[edit]
Tolu started his educational journey in Lagos, Nigeria. He attended Mayflower School Ikene. He went on to obtain a B.Sc. in political science from the University of Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State. Upon completing his BSc. degree at the University of Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, he proceeded to pursue a master's degree in Corporate Communication and Public Affairs from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen Scotland. Thereafter, he completed a degree point program in Advanced Negotiation from Harvard Law School Boston.
Career[edit]
Ibitola started his professional career in 2007 working with three international airlines as a passenger services officer. During his postgraduate degree, he served as the personal assistant to an Aberdeen counselor named Willie Young. During this time, he pioneered the Nigerian Register.
After bagging his degree, he returned to Nigeria to take up a position as the Head of Corporate Communications in Ancient International in 2009 after which he relocated to Ekiti State to take up an appointment with the Dr. Kayode Fayemi led administration in 2010.
He was appointed as Deputy Chief of Staff to the Ekiti State Government on 22 October 2019 after serving as the Personal Assistant to Dr. Kayode Fayemi for eight years during his tenure as Governor of Ekiti State and subsequently Minister of Solid Minerals Development. On 9 May 2022, he was named the Chief of Staff
Political Life[edit]
Tolu has spoken extensively in several interviews on future political ambitions.[4][5] He expressed that he has no inclination to contest for an elective position citing that he is more focused on working to deliver good governance under the mentorship of a transformative leader.
Personal life[edit]
Ibitola got married to Bolanle, a Human Resource professional in 2010. They have been married for over a decade and have 2 children together. Ibitola is highly adventurous, an avid sports lover and enjoys football, squash, cycling, and a good game of Formula 1. He is also an aesthete with a high appreciation for visuals, fine art and music.
