Biography[edit]

Lanna Rodrigues gave her first steps at the age of 17, when she risked the first chords in the old guitar of her mother. At 18, she discovered the gift of composing and started to transform her life experiences into songs present in her autobiography. She started her career in 2003, performing on the stages of the nightclubs of Rio de Janeiro under the artistic name Lanna Rodrigues.[1][2] Her first great experience in music occurred in 2005 when she performed to an audience of at least 20 thousand people in a Rodeo, having the honour of sharing the stage with the band "Os Paralamas do Sucesso".[3][4] On September 24, 2005, Lanna took part in the IV Festival de Musica Popular Brasileira of Magé[5][6] with 147 candidates enrolled, and then she took part in the V Festival on September 23, 2006, as the author and singer of the song "Marcas do Passado".[4][7][3] Lanna won the 2nd place on the 4th Festival, with her song "Não Adianta".[8][9] On October 8, 2005, Lanna took part in the 1st Festival of Brazilian Popular Music of Queimados, promoted by the Department of Education and Culture of Queimados, with her song "Pra te Esquecer".

In November of the same year, Lanna was classified by the MPB Magazine, as the newest revelation of the Brazilian Popular Music,[10] concerning the interpretation and musical repertoire in the presentations in the nights of Rio de Janeiro, simultaneously, she dedicated herself to the project of the Foundation of Development and Support to Special Children, in Itatiaia - RJ. In 2007, the young woman starts lyric singing and popular guitar lessons at Villa Lobos Music School, in addition to graduating in administration. Nine years later - in 2016, she participates in the 5th season of the Reality Show The Voice Brasil[11] on Rede Globo on Lulu Santos Team with the song "Pra Você",[12][13] being automatically selected by the technical competitor for his team.[14] After losing the battle in the seventh episode to Vitória Carneiro with the song "Não Vá Embora",[15][14] she was eliminated from the competition. The battles phase was broadcast in three episodes, with episodes six to eight represented by battles between November 9 and 24, 2016. In this phase, the technicians had the help of Ivete Sangalo as supertechnician for all the teams. Amid all the repercussion brought by the program, the artist interrupted her career to take care of her husband and manager, Jefferson Luis, who fell ill due to leukemia. In June 2017 her partner and manager Jefferson came to pass away and, Lanna leaves her career completely to live this mourning. Lanna Rodrigues isolates herself from the music gig market and, passes on this drama alone composing songs for her own self-transformation.

In 2018, the song "Outra Vez" by Lanna Rodrigues in partnership with Beto Galvão is selected to be part of the soundtrack of the soap opera "O Sétimo Guardião" from Rede Globo by director Rogério Gomes.[16] In this year, she participated in the International Festival of Collective Health, Mental Health and Human Rights, after conquering several notorious results in the artistic market.[6] Since then, she resumes her career on stage with presentations based on work experiences.[17][18] During the COVID-19 pandemic in Brazil, the work was directed to social networks and organization of his solo career, with gradual return on stage at the end of the year 2021.[19] In 2022, the funk carioca singer MC Bob Rum is preparing a new MPB version of his song "Está escrito" in partnership with Lanna Rodrigues and arrangements by the Brasil Melody Band.[20]
