Lanu Hahau Tuku'aho born Lanu Hahau Faletau; 19 March 1992) is a member of the Tongan royal family. She is the wife of Sione Ikamafana Tuku'aho the second son of Fatafehi 'Alaivahamama'o Tuku'aho.
Biography[edit]
Lanu Hahau Faletau is a New Zealand lawyer, model and member of the Tongan royal family.[1][2]
She is an alumnus of the University of Auckland where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Law and Master of Laws.[3]
At present Lanu is a Senior Solicitor for one of New Zealand's leading litigation law firms.[4]. She represents the Crown for all serious crimes in Auckland. Prior to that she acted for the Auckland Council in a much publicised appeal that saw petitions and calls for legal changes to be done for New Zealand's Dog Control laws.[5]
Notable Accolades[edit]
Lanu was selected in 2019 as one of 300 Asia-Pacific Leaders for the Obama Foundation.[6] She represented Tonga and New Zealand.[7]
In 2020 she was selected as one of six women creating positive change in the Fashion Industry.[8]
In 2021 Lanu was recognised as one of the University of Auckland's alumni "40 under 40" influencers to shine in both her professional and personal life.[9][10]
Marriage[edit]
On 29 October 2022, Lanu married Prince Sione Ikamafana Tuku'aho at St Pauls church in Auckland in a significantly reduced celebration due to COVID-19. The nuptials was the first for the Tongan royal family since the Crown Prince of Tonga Tupoutoʻa ʻUlukalala married Sinaitakala Fakafanua – with the pair being double second cousins.[11]
The wedding was attended by all senior members of the Tongan Royal Family including King Tupou VI and Queen Consort Nanasipauʻu Tukuʻaho.[12]
