Larri Merritt,[1] better known by his YouTube pseudonym Larray, is an American YouTuber and social media influencer.[1] Born on July 22, 1998 in Oakland, California he is American.[2] Merritt found some success posting on the now former app Vine while finding more success on YouTube. As of April 2020, Merritt had accumulated over 4,470,000 YouTube subscribers.[3] Merritt has been known to be member of the infamous Hype House located in California, among other TikTok and YouTube creators.[4]

Merritt was born on July 22, 1998 in Oakland, California. Merritt has explained that before finding social media, he was very insecure about who he was. He later found Vine and saw that people found him humorous and took a liking to his comedic videos, therefore have Merritt feel a lot more comfortable about who he was.[2]
Career[edit]
2016-2018: Vine and YouTube beginnings[edit]
Merritt began posting videos to Vine in 2016 and had received over 100,000 followers on the app before it got discontinued.[4] Merritt joined a collaborative YouTube channel known as "2BusyOnline" along with two others who go by Hails and Lissette.[5] Merritt later took his solo platform to YouTube, where he began posting comedy videos, personal vlogs and being well known for making gaming videos, specifically to the game Roblox.
2017-Present: YouTube[edit]
Merritt tries to post new content every Wednesday.[5] He often refers to his viewers as "girlies", the nickname for the fandom on Meritt. Merritt also sells fan merchandise boasting the name "girlies".[6] Merritt found a breakthrough on February 11, 2018 when he released his first single First Place of which fans found humorous and authentic.[7] In April 2019 Merritt and fellow social media star Brady Potter began a relationship, although the couple didn't reveal such until 5 months later.[8] On February 8, 2020 Merritt released his second single Latina. Merritt started sharing through a verified TikTok account where he began amassing more fans. His TikTok pseudonym is "larayeeee".[9] As of April 2020 Merritt has received 2 million followers on the popular social media app Instagram, over 500k followers on Twitter and 8.1 Million followers on TikTok.[10]
Personal life[edit]
Merritt is openly gay.[5] The media has speculated that Merritt dated now friend Issa Twiamz.[8] In April 2019, Merritt began a relationship with fellow media star Brady Potter, who is openly bisexual.[11] Potter makes frequent ventures into Merritt's videos and the two currently reside in Los Angeles, California. Merritt tends to steer away from personal information in his vlogs and other videos.[12]
