Lasengle Inc. (株式会社ラセングル, Kabushiki-gaisha Rasenguru)[1] is a Japanese video game developer and publisher headquartered in Meguro, Tokyo, Japan. It's a wholly-owned subsidiary of Aniplex, Sony Music Entertainment (Japan) anime production arm. Lasengle is best known for developing and operating the hit mobile game Fate/Grand Order.
History[edit]
On December 15, 2021, Aniplex announced a share transfer agreement to acquire all shares of a new company that would succeed Delightworks’ games business through a corporate split for an undisclosed sum. [2] [3] [4]
On December 28, 2021, a new company, Lasengle, was established and took over the game business of Delightworks, including the Fate/Grand Order development team and operations. [5] The company name, Lasengle, was given by Type-Moon co-founder Kinoko Nasu and means "something new, memorable, and yet unknown". [6]
On February 1, 2022, Aniplex completed the acquisition of Lasengle per the share transfer agreement. Yoshinori Ono, who was previously president and chief operating officer of Delightworks, was appointed president and representative director of Lasengle. Atsuhiro Iwakami, president and representative director of Aniplex, would serve as chairman and representative director of the company. [7] [8]
