The Latgale Party (Latvian: Latgales partija) is a regionalist political party founded on June 1, 2012 in Preiļi. The party was founded by 222 members. From February 2014,[1] the chairman of the party is Jānis Lāčplēsis, the chairman of Daugavpils City Council, the co-chairman is Aldis Adamovičs, a deputy of the 12th Saeima. The motto of the Latgale party is: "Together for the growth of Latgale!"
The party was registered in the Register of Political Parties and Organizations of the Republic of Latvia on 28 August 2012. It was founded with the aim of defending the interests of Latgale residents at the state level. After the results of the 2013 municipal elections, the Latgale party received the support of the majority of voters in Daugavpils, Preiļi, Ludza, Riebiņi and Viļaka districts. In the 2018 Saeima elections, representatives of the Latgale party participated in the lists of the parties New Unity, For a Humane Latvia and The Progressives. The party is represented in the 13th Saeima by two deputies - Aldis Adamovičs and Janīna Kursīte. Members of Latgale party are chairmen of several Latgale municipalities: Daugavpils Municipality, Ludza Municipality, Viļaka Municipality, Aglona Municipality, Vārkava Municipality.
In 2018, together with other regional parties and the party Unity, the party association New Unity was formed. .
