Launch mount landing pad

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

An artist's concept of ITS booster returning to the launch pad

The launch mount landing pad is a planned class of the launch pads described by SpaceX CEO Elon Musk in September 2016.[1] It would be designed to land the vehicles on the launch pad from outer space.[2] He planned to use this on the first stage of the Interplanetary Transport System (ITS), which was renamed Big Falcon Rocket in 2017, and then Starship in 2018. However, according to the SpaceX animation of the launch of Starship, the Super Heavy booster is planned not to land on the launch pad at all.[3]
