Laura K. Ipsen is an American businesswoman and the CEO of Ellucian, a higher education software provider.[1][2][3]

Early life[edit]
Ipsen graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.A. in international relations.[3] She studied Arabic at Yarmouk University in Irbid, Jordan.[3]
Career[edit]
Ipsen is currently the CEO of Ellucian, a higher education software and services provider based in Reston, VA.
Prior to her current role, Ipsen was general manager and senior vice president for the Oracle Marketing Cloud, where she oversaw sales, account management, marketing, and customer support and services. Before joining Oracle, Ipsen was corporate vice president of Microsoft's Worldwide Public Sector organization, where she led sales and marketing teams serving government, education, and non-privatized healthcare customers in more than 100 countries.[1]
Ipsen also spent several years at Cisco Systems, where she served as vice president of global policy and government affairs from October 2001 to August 2007, senior vice president of global policy and government affairs from September 2007 to September 2009, senior vice president and general manager of Smart Grid from October 2009 to November 2010, and eventually as senior vice president and general manager of Cisco System's Connected Energy Networks.[1]
Ipsen currently sits on the board of directors of Verisk, a data analytics provider. She was a member of the Board of Directors of Monsanto from 2010 up through its acquisition by Bayer in 2018.[1][2] She is a Senior Fellow of the American Leadership Forum in the Silicon Valley.[2] She is the past chair of the board of the Information Technology Industry Council based in Washington, D.C. She has also received numerous awards and recognition for her work in information and communications technology, sustainability and gender diversity, including the “Women Making History” award from U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer.[4]
Ipsen holds a bachelor's degree in international relations from the Woodrow Wilson School of Foreign Affairs at University of Virginia and studied Arabic at Yarmouk University in Jordan.
Personal life[edit]
Ipsen is married, and has three children. They live in Northern Virginia.[3]
