LeVern Freimann is a lily hybridizer from Bellingham, Washington State, USA, who began working with lilies in the 1940's[1]. His work mainly focused on trumpet lilies[1] and he is credited with breeding Anastasia, Bellingham Star, LeVern Frieman aka Miss Feya, Scheherazade[2], and others. "A little know fact about LeVern is that it was he who created the original seed parents for the trumpets Pink Perfection, Golden Splendor and Copper King[3]." In 1985 LeVern Freimann received the E. H. Wilson award by the North American Lily Society for "outstanding contribution to the genus Lilium"[4]. Scheherazade and Anastasia were inducted into the North American Lily Society Hall of Fame, "made up of lilies that have scored first in the popularity poll for three years[5]."
