LeafFilter North, Inc. (also referred to as “LeafFilter Gutter Protection”) is an American-based home improvement company that installs and services rain gutter guards on homes.[1] The privately owned company is based in Hudson, Ohio and serves homeowners across the United States.[2]
Overview[edit]
LeafFilter™ was founded by Matt Kaulig, a former University of Akron quarterback,[3] in 2005. Incorporated in 2008, LeafFilter now has 22 locations throughout the United States. LeafFilter consists of a rain gutter guard made of surgical grade stainless steel and a vinyl extrusion.
Notable achievements[edit]
LeafFilter was named to the Qualified Remodeler Magazine Top 500 list in July 2012.[4] The company was ranked No.27 on the Qualified Remodeler Top 500. LeafFilter was the youngest company inside the Top 30 and No.1 ranked gutter protection company on the list.[5]
In August 2012, LeafFilter was named to Inc. Magazine’s annual 5000 list.[6] LeafFilter was the top-ranked gutter protection company on the list, finishing at No.840 overall.[7] On specific lists, LeafFilter finished No.29 within the construction category[8] and No.2 amongst Ohio construction companies.[9]
In late 2012, LeafFilter was ranked in the Top 5 of the Weatherhead 100 list.[10] The Weatherhead 100 Award is presented and sponsored by the Case Western Reserve University Weatherhead School of Management and Council of Smaller Enterprises (COSE) in Cleveland, Ohio. LeafFilter finished No.4 on the Weatherhead 100 list.[11]
LeafFilter was then named to Inc. Magazine’s Hire Power Awards in December 2012.[12] LeafFilter ranked No.7 in the construction category.[13]
In June 2013, LeafFilter was named to the Cleveland Plain Dealer's 2013 Top Workplaces list.[14]
LeafFilter was named to Qualified Remodeler Magazine's Top 500 list for the second straight year in August 2013.[15] LeafFilter climbed the rankings in 2013 to No.18 on the Qualified Remodeler list of the Top 500 remodeling companies in the nation.[16] The gutter protection company was ranked the largest remodeling company in Ohio, as it also cracked the Top 20 for the first time.[15]
In late August 2013, LeafFilter ranked on Inc. magazine's annual 5000 list.[17] LeafFilter ranked No.1941 on the 2013 Inc. 500|5000 list with three-year growth of 195 percent.[18] LeafFilter was the top-ranked gutter guard business on the list.[19] The gutter guard company also ranked No.59 on the list of companies based out of Ohio.[20] LeafFilter finished No.63 on subcategory list of the nation's Top 100 Construction Companies.[19]
The November 2013 issue of Inc. magazine featured LeafFilter in the 2nd annual Inc. Hire Power Awards, recognizing the private businesses that have generated the most jobs over the past 18 months.[21] LeafFilter finished among the Top 10 private business job creators throughout the country within the Construction Category at No.9 on the ranking list.[22] The Hudson, Ohio-based company also finished as the No.1 Construction Company and No.14 overall on Inc.’s Hire Power Award ranking of Ohio businesses.[23]
In December of 2013, LeafFilter was named to Case Western Reserve University's Weatherhead School of Management Weatherhead 100 for the second consecutive year.[24] LeafFilter was ranked No.8 on the Weatherhead 100, a ranking list that celebrates entrepreneurship and rapidly growing Northeast Ohio businesses with net sales of at least $100,000 in 2008 and more than $1 million in 2012, with at least 16 full-time employees in 2012.[25]
