Lee Dong-won (Korean: 이동원) is a South Korean media executive and journalist. He currently serves as the President and CEO of Maeil Broadcasting Network (MBN), a cable television network in South Korea.
Education
Lee graduated from Chonnam National University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and International Relations.[1]
Career
Lee began his career in journalism at Maeil Business Newspaper in 1989. Over three decades, he held various editorial positions within the Maekyung Media Group, including Head of the Political Department, Head of the Social Department, and Director of the News Center.[2][3]
In 2021, Lee was promoted to Executive Director of MBN. He was subsequently appointed as the President and CEO of MBN in September 2022. He is the first reporter from the organization's open recruitment process to rise to the position of CEO.[4][5]
Since assuming the role of CEO, Lee has overseen the network's digital transition strategies and content development.[4] [6]
