The Left Koumintang was a Political group inside the Koumintang From around 1920-1927. The Left Koumintang was a socialist Group, compared to the Right Koumintang, under Chiang Kai-Shek Which was a More conservative Group[1]

Foundation of the Koumintang

The Koumintang was a group founded in 1905 to overthrow the Qing empire And replace it with a democratic Republic. The Koumintang joined the Xinhai Revolution of 1911, which overthrew the Monarchy and established the Beiyang Government.

Spilt of the Koumintang

When Yuan Shikai Declared the Empire of China, The Koumintang Helped fight against him in the national protection war, however, after this, the warlord era began due to disputes within china. the koumintang then established a new government in the south of china, and began the Northern Expedition. The Left koumintang, and the CCP, under Wang Jingwei established an oppostion government in wuhan, called the Wuhan Nationalist government. However they quickly joined back with chiang ki-shek, This action caused them to be critized by some fellow koumintang members.[2]

Koumintang Era

During the Early Rule of the koumintang, Some Left Koumintang Members remained with right Koumintang Government, while others fled to the CCP, however There was much infighting between the two groups, causing discontent.

Purge

In a surprising move, Chiang ki-shek Purged the left koumintang, and killing or causing most of the group to flee to the CCP, these members would then join the Chinese Soviet Republic, fighting against chiang ki-shek.[3]

Reorganized Government of China

Wang Jingwei, a Leader in the Left koumintang circles, would unexpectedly join the japanese during the Second Sino-Japanese War, Establishing himself on a puppet government called "the Reorganized national government of the Republic of China.
