Legendre Energy, subsidiary of the Legendre Group, was created in 2007 and is established in France and internationally through its three activities: renewable energy production, maintenance and operation, energy efficiency. In 2020, Legendre Energy turnover amounted to 15 million euros and the company has 55 employees. Legendre Energy’s head office is in Rennes (France).
History
Legendre Energy, a company dedicated to renewable energies, was created in December 2007 by Pascal Martin and Jean-Paul Legendre, President of the Legendre Group Supervisory Board. Legendre Energy established its head office at Vern-sur-Seiche (near Rennes). In December 2010, the company opened a second agency in Saint-Herblain (near Nantes).
In January 2010, the company left Vern-sur-Seiche to set up its new head office inside the Enerpark building, located in the commercial zone of “Cap Malo” at La Mézière (near Rennes). Built by the Legendre Group with a rooftop solar power plant of 125 kWc installed by Legendre Energy, Enerpark was the first office building to get the “BBC” (low-energy building) label in Brittany.
In June 2012, Legendre Energy bought the company ESBIM in Poitiers (France). In March 2013, Legendre Energy teams operated the Halle Pajol solar power plant for the city of Paris (France).
In May 2013 they also operated two solar farms totalling 5MW, in Foussais-Payré (France) and Cazaubon (France), driven by SERGIES, Société d’Economie Mixte Locale in Poitiers (France).
Legendre Energy decided to expand its activity and specialises in the operation and maintenance of renewable energy plants and multi-technical building management in January 2015.
In July 2015, Legendre Energy moved out and settled in the Mabilay building, newly refurbished by Legendre Real Estate and located in Rennes city centre (France).
This same year, Legendre Energy took its first steps on the international scene and expanded in North and West Africa.
In April 2016, Legendre Energy operated solar photovoltaic projects totalling 10 MWc including the (ground) solar power plant of Poiré-sur-Vie (France), the rooftop of Sancoins (France) livestock market and the solar power plant on “L’Autre Usine” rooftop in Cholet (France).
In 2017, the company launched a self-consumption offer allowing buildings to use directly the solar energy produced by the photovoltaic installation.
Late 2017, Legendre Energy operated Toulouse-Blagnac airport (1 MW) solar power plant and another one for Eau de Paris (1.8 MW) in L’Haÿ-les-Roses (France).
In 2018, Legendre Energy installed the solar power plant for the Avril Group Campus (150 kWc) in Bruz (near Rennes) and a rooftop photovoltaic installation for Itancia Group (100 kWc) in Cholet (France). In December 2018, Legendre Energy counted 550 realisations for 100 MW installed and 130 MW for maintenance.
In June 2019, Nantes (France) National Wholesale Market’s solar power plant (5600 kWc) was operated. Legendre Energy teams of Saint-Herblain (France) moved out the same year to a new agency in La Chapelle-sur-Erdre (France). In December 2019, Legendre Energy had more than 600 operations with more than 120 MW installed and 150 MW in maintenance.
Early 2020, Legendre Energy established a new agency in the South of France, more precisely in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and Nouvelle Aquitaine.
The company flourished and realised also in 2020, its first solar power plants in Sierra Leone for an NGO. These two ground-based photovoltaic installations have a total power of 650 kWc. Late 2020, Legendre Energy had 80 solar power plants carried out on behalf of supermarkets thus becoming a French leader in terms of self-consumption.
In 2021, Legendre Energy operated E.leclerc Atlantis rooftop-based solar powerplant in Saint-Herblain (France), totalling 1.7 MW, thus becoming the biggest photovoltaic installation operated for a Supermarket.
