"Lelja" is a song by Albanian singer and songwriter Elvana Gjata and Kosovo-Albanian rappers Capital T and 2po2. The record was released as a single through Threedots Productions and East Music Matters and was written by Elvana alongside Flori Mumajesi, Capital T and 2po2.[1]
Background[edit]
"Lejla" was written by Elvana Gjata alongside Capital T, 2po2 and her long-time collaborator Flori Mumajesi. The production was handled by Threedots Productions while Max Productions was hired for the visualisation of the accompanying music video.[1][2][1][3] It is a funk-soul song performed entirely in Albanian with few English phrases.[4][5] Simultaneously with the release of the single, Elvana launched her designer collaboration called "Lejla" with the Albanian designer Valdrin Sahiti with apparel entirely in purple.[6][7]
Music video[edit]
An accompanying music video for "Lejla" was premiered to Elvana's official YouTube channel on 24 October 2016 and was announced to be released by a teaser three days prior.[8][9] It features Elvana standing on a roof of a driving purple-painted train wearing withal a short arm-length dress with the matching overknee-boots in the same color.[10][11] Capital T arrives via a purple helicopter while 2po2 appears in the music video on a purple-painted boat.[10] Elvana's outfit worn in the music video are pieces of her designer collaboration with Valdrin Sahiti which is also titled "Lejla".[12][13]
