The firm belongs among the largest and oldest law firms of Switzerland founded in 1917.[2] Lenz & Staehlin has 175+ lawyers worldwide and 48 partners. The main areas of practice include Asset Management, Arbitration, Banking & Finance, Competition, Corporate and M&A, Employment Pensions and Immigration, Insolvency and Restructuring, Intellectual Property, Investigations, Litigation, Private Clients, Real Estate, Tax and Technology & Outsourcing.[3] The firm operates offices in Zürich, Geneva and Lausanne.

History[edit]

Conrad Staehelin founded a law office Staehelin in Zürich in 1917. In 1951, Raoul Lenz started a firm in Geneva. In 1991, Lenz & Staehelin merged and continued to operate under that name. Most prominently the firm was involved in the Swissair bankruptcy of 2001, and in 2013 with the Offshore Leaks, when they worked with client Gunter Sachs (1932-2015), who was accused of tax evasion by authorities.[4]
