Leslie Myatt, Ph.D., FRCOG (born January 21, 1951) is a British/American professor, researcher and scientist. He lives in Portland, Oregon and works at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), as Professor of Perinatal Research.[1] in the OB/GYN department. Myatt is a subject matter expert in how placental growth affects fetal development. His research focuses on placental changes that occur in the presence of gestational diabetes, preeclampsia, maternal obesity and other adverse conditions, and how those changes influence the development of disease in the offspring's adult life[2].


Current research (2022)

Perinatology: Myatt studies the role of the placenta in preeclampsia, preterm birth and gestational diabetes, including blood flow on the fetal side of the placenta, and the role of obesity, inflammation and free radicals in placental function. He also investigates fetal programming and the regulation of prostaglandin synthesis and action in the intrauterine tissues at birth.
