History[edit]

Lexis was established as an independent PR agency by founders Bill Jones and Tim Adams, in London in 1992.

Their first major client was Superdrug. Hugh Birley joined as managing director two years later, and went on to successfully lead a management buy-out in 2002. Jones and Adams left Lexis later that year and Birley became CEO.

In August 2005, international communications group Next Fifteen Communications acquired a 25% stake in Lexis and went on to acquire a further 51% stake in 2006. In August 2007, Lexis’ first graduate recruit Margot Raggett became CEO.

In August 2011 when Raggett left Lexis, Jason Gallucci, formerly managing director, took over the CEO role (departing in 2014).

In 2012 Lexis acquired Paratus Communications.

In 2014, Dominic Shales was named Managing Director of the agency.

Recent Work[edit]

Recent work includes working with designer JW Anderson and Diet Coke [1] to redesign the Diet Coke bottle by the knitwear from his Autumn/Winter 2015 collection.

In June 2015 Lexis helped to launch the new Sky Arts channel by working with Nile Rodgers and having him busk on the South Bank in disguise only to reveal his real identity. Nile Rodgers earned only £12.30 for his efforts [2]
