LifeWise Health Plan of Oregon is a part of larger network of state-based health plans in Washington and Alaska that provides healthcare coverage to more than 1.5 million members. The company was founded in 1986 as a subsidiary of Premera Blue Cross. Its statewide network has more than 9,000 physicians, hospitals and other healthcare providers.

LifeWise Health Plan of Oregon will exit the Oregon health insurance market at the end of 2016 after 22 years in business, citing significant losses.[1]
