Early life and education[edit]
Born in Batumi, Georgia, 1988, Lika Bibileishvili demonstrated a precocious aptitude for the piano at an early age and, at 10, attended piano classes at the Georgian University of the Arts. At 12, she performed Rachmaninoff's First Piano Concerto on-stage with the Ajara Symphony Orchestra. She performed Camille Saint-Saens' Second Piano Concerto on-stage at 14.[1] [2]
In 2008, Bibileishvili came under the tutelage of Prof. Franz Massinger at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich (HMTM), later studying under Prof. Volker Banfield in 2011 and Prof. Antti Siirala in 2014. She graduated in 2015 with a Master's Degree Distinction.
Career[edit]
Lika has performed as both a soloist and a chamber musician. Her debut CD featured solo-piano works from Prokofiev, Sibelius, Bartok, and Ravel. Her performative technique and technical virtuosity were lauded by critics, who commented on her "touching and flowing harmony"[1] and the "almost improvisatory" feel of her performance of Ravel's Gaspard de la Nuit[3]
