Christopher Lloyd Ellington, professionally known as Likkle Dotz OTB, is a British record producer of Jamaican heritage, born on 21 April 2001 in Kensal Green, North West London. He produces music primarily within the UK drill and UK hip hop genres. His production credits include three UK Hip-Hop & R&B Albums Chart number-one projects, a UK Top 40 single, a BPI Silver-certified album, a Premios Odeon award-winning project, and commercial work for global brands including Burberry.
Career
Likkle Dotz OTB began playing instruments at the age of six, including keyboard, guitar, trumpet, flute, and bass guitar. He began producing music using DAW software after attending a youth club event in 2018 where entrepreneur Jamal Edwards gave young people the opportunity to perform on the main stage at Lovebox Festival. The event featured artists including Tion Wayne, Kenny Allstar, Pharrell Williams, and Jorja Smith. "That day was a big game changer", he later recalled, adding "I need to go home and put in the hours… I'm not going to do anything else but music."[1]
He developed a reputation for crafting beats within the UK drill and hip hop space, drawing influences from producers including M1OnTheBeat, Metro Boomin, and Wondagurl.[2] In 2020, he was one of three producers selected to compete in The Process, a music competition series hosted by Link Up TV Originals and presented by Capital XTRA's Rob Bruce, in which contestants competed for the opportunity to work with UK drill artist LD. Likkle Dotz won the producer segment of the competition, with his beat selected by LD and producer Fumez the Engineer to form the basis of the single "Million".[3] He subsequently appeared on Capital XTRA alongside LD and director Blue Boredom to discuss the project.[4]
Also in 2020, Likkle Dotz co-produced "Another One" (with Fumes Beats) for Rimzee's mixtape Upper Clapton Dream 2,[5] which debuted at number one on the Official Hip-Hop and R&B Albums Chart.[6]
In 2021, Kidd Keo's album Back to Rockport, which included Likkle Dotz's production on the track "New Drip", won the Premios Odeon Best Urban Album award.[7] The album peaked at number two on the Spanish Albums Chart (PROMUSICAE), spending 28 weeks on the chart.[8] That same year, he co-produced "Pound Signs" with ES for Headie One, released as a standalone single in June 2021.[9]
In 2022, Likkle Dotz produced "Dangerous World" (featuring Azanti and ODUMODUBLVCK) as the closing track of Nigerian rapper PsychoYP's album YPSZN3.[10] YPSZN3 was nominated for Best Rap Album at the 16th The Headies in 2023.[11]
In 2023, Likkle Dotz produced "Triple Threat", the lead single from Headie One and K-Trap's collaborative mixtape Strength to Strength, featuring Clavish.[12] The track, co-produced alongside M1OnTheBeat, Ghosty, and X10, charted in the UK Top 40.[13] He also produced "Good Girls" on the mixtape,[14] which debuted at number four on the UK Albums Chart and number one on the Official Hip-Hop and R&B Albums Chart.[15] Headie One and K-Trap were subsequently nominated for Group of the Year at the BRIT Awards 2024.[16]
Also in 2023, Likkle Dotz co-produced the title track "Global" (with Cee Beats) for German rapper Kolja Goldstein's album of the same name, released via Chapter ONE/UMG on 20 April 2023, which peaked at number seven on the German Albums Chart.[17]
In 2024, Likkle Dotz held a production credit on Thanks for Hating, the mixtape by Potter Payper, released through 36 The Label, EGA Records, and UMG, which reached number one on the Official Hip-Hop and R&B Albums Chart.[18] That same year, he produced "Leave Her" on Kidd Keo's album 2016, which charted at number 29 on the Spanish Albums Chart.[19]
He has also contributed production to projects by artists including Kwengface, Digga D, ArrDee, and Abra Cadabra.
Commercial work
In March 2021, Likkle Dotz OTB was commissioned to produce the music for Desert Isles Mix, a collaborative podcast series between luxury fashion brands Burberry and LN-CC. The three-part series, hosted by director Akinola Davies Jr, explored the relationship between fashion and music. He was credited as the music producer on the official LN-CC Instagram post announcing the series.[20]
