Lisa Ventura MBE, FCIIS is a British cybersecurity specialist, author, and public speaker.[1][2] She is known for her work on the human factors of cybersecurity and for her advocacy for diversity and inclusion within the technology industry. For her contributions, Ventura was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2023 King's Birthday Honours.[3][4]
Career and Advocacy
Ventura's career has focused on security awareness, organizational culture change, and other human-centric aspects of cybersecurity. She is the founder of Cyber Security Unity, a global organization that works to unite professionals and organizations to address emerging cyber threats.[5]
A central theme of Ventura's work has been improving diversity and inclusion in her field. She campaigns for greater representation for women, neurodivergent individuals, and people from minority backgrounds. This work led her to establish Neuro Unity, a non-profit organization focused on promoting neuroinclusion in the workplace.[6] Her advocacy is also reflected in her book series, The Rise of the Cyber Women, which profiles the careers of women in the industry.[7]
In 2020, Ventura co-founded International Imposter Syndrome Awareness Day to highlight and address a key barrier to career progression in many industries.[6]

Honours and Recognition
