The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict - an ethnic and territorial conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan over the disputed region of Nagorno-Karabakh spanning over a century, caused damage of a number of Azerbaijani cemeteries in that region. An alphabetical list follows.

Graves of Azerbaijanis in Kalbajar Donatella Rovera, Amnesty International's senior crisis adviser, who traveled to Kalbajar soon after it was returned to Azerbaijan's control, reported observing in the cemetery of Kalbajar smashed graves "of Azerbaijanis who were buried here before the 1993 Armenian occupation. Some graves were freshly smashed, seemingly by Armenians who left the area last week after 27 years of occupation".[4][better source needed]
Gravestones of Azerbaijanis in Shusha James Meek, a British journalist who visited Shusha in 1997, reported that the gravestones in the Azerbaijani cemetery on the edge of town were methodically smashed and vandalised.[5]
