List of Big Brother 21 (American season) houseguests
On June 10, 2019, CBS reported that the Big Brother 21 cast would be revealed on June 17, 2019 on Big Brother live feeds to viewers with a CBS All Access subscription. Former Big Brother HouseGuest Jeff Schroeder returned to host pre-season interviews with the cast after being replaced by Celebrity Big Brother alum Ross Mathews for the previous season.
Analyse Marie "Sis" Talavera, 22, is a college soccer star from Northridge, California and living in Simi Valley, California at the time of the season. Analyse describes herself as funny, outgoing, and confident; and enjoys tanning, going to the beach, shopping, relaxing, and hanging out with friends. Her favorite past HouseGuests were Daniele Donato, Dick Donato, and Tyler Crispen. She is the youngest HouseGuest this season.
On Day 52, Analyse was voted by the public to compete in the first America's Field Trip competition. Analyse, despite trying to secretly throw the competition to lose on purpose, came in second place and received a punishment.
In Week 8, Jackson nominated Analyse as a pawn against his target Christie. But on Day 65, Analyse was evicted by a vote of 5–1 against Christie and became the third member of the jury. She voted for Michie to win.
Christie Murphy, 28, is a boutique owner from Staten Island, New York and living in Keyport, New Jersey at the time of the season. Christie describes herself as outgoing, overachiever, and edgy; and enjoys going to the park with her dog, anything in nature including waterfall hikes, and trying new restaurants with friends.
It was revealed that Christie had a pre-existing relationship with Tommy Bracco prior to filming; her ex-girlfriend is Tommy's aunt, the two appearing together in social media posts. The two allege they were not aware that they'd be competing together and expressed visible shock to seeing each other in the house on premiere night.
Following the Camp Director twist, Christie won the first Head of Household competition. She nominated Cliff and Kathryn for eviction. After Sam vetoed Cliff from the block, Christie named Ovi as the replacement nominee. In week 3, Christie won the third and final Whacktivity competition earning the Panic Power. The power expired after week 6. Having saved the power the prior 3 weeks, in week 6, Jessica won the veto competition and rendered Christie's Panic Power obsolete prematurely since Jessica was the reigning HOH; the power expired without ever being used.
In Week 7, it was revealed that Christie was voted by the public to participate in the first America's Field Trip competition. On Day 52, Christie came in last place and became a special third nominee for the week. On Day 55, Tommy used the veto to remove Christie from the block. As she was a special third nominee, no replacement nominee was named.
On Day 59, Jackson nominated Christie for eviction alongside Analyse. She remained on the block for eviction but was spared when Analyse was sent to jury instead in a 5–1 vote.
On Day 66, Christie was nominated by Nick through his "America's Prankster" power. She was spared from eviction again when Nick was sent to jury in a 5–0 vote. She was nominated a third consecutive time, this time by Holly as HOH on Day 73, but was spared from eviction when Tommy won veto and removed her from the block on Day 76. Christie was nominated for a fourth consecutive time during the double eviction on Day 79 and was ultimately evicted from the House on a 3–0 vote, becoming the sixth juror of Big Brother 21. She voted for Michie to win.
William Clifford "Cliff" Hogg III, 54, is a petroleum engineer from Houston, Texas. Cliff describes himself as funny, stubborn, and caring; and enjoys watersports, gardening, and politics. On Day 1, he was one of four houseguests banished by Jackson, the Camp Director. He was the first one to re-enter the house.
On Day 30, Cliff was evicted by a vote of 6–4 against Nicole. Immediately following the eviction, the Camp Comeback competition began. Cliff won the competition and was granted re-entry into the house. That night he became the new Head of Househould. On Day 31, Cliff nominated Jack and Jackson for eviction. On Day 34, after Jackson vetoed himself off the block, Cliff named Isabella the replacement nominee. On Day 52, Tommy nominated Cliff for eviction. On Day 58, Cliff survived eviction by a vote of 6–1 against Kathryn. He voted for Michie to win.
David Alexander, 29, is a photographer from Atlanta, Georgia. David describes himself as positive, charismatic, and high energy, and enjoys CrossFit training, professional photography, and traveling to new locations. On Day 1, he was one of four houseguests banished by Jackson, the camp director. He failed to re-enter the house and remained banished. On Day 15, the Camp Comeback twist was introduced. David moved back into the house to a secluded room upstairs (with recent evictee, Ovi) where they must remain for the next two evictions. On Day 30, the first four evictees in Camp Comeback competed for re-entry into the actual game. David lost the competition and was evicted indefinitely.
Holly Katherine Allen, 31, is a wine safari guide from Lander, Wyoming, and living in Los Angeles, California at the time of the season. Holly describes herself as spontaneous, sarcastic, and relentless, and enjoys fostering dogs, hiking with wine, and road-tripping with a camera in hand. She had previously been crowned Miss Wyoming USA 2012, and represented Wyoming at Miss USA 2012. On Day 37, Holly was crowned the new Head of Household. On Day 38, she nominated Sam and Nick for eviction.
On Day 99, after getting to the Final 2 with Jackson Michie, she received a minority of the jury's votes and became the runner-up by a vote of 6–3, receiving votes from Nicole, Jessica and Kathryn.
Isabella "Bella" Wang, 22, is a public health analyst from Mount Olive, New Jersey and living in Los Angeles at the time of the season. Isabella describes herself as spontaneous, reckless, and generous; and enjoys spending other people's money. Big Brother asked Isabella who her favorite Big Brother cast member of any season is, and she said "Isabella Wang, who won season 21." On Day 34, Isabella became the replacement nominee after Jackson vetoed himself off the block. On Day 37, by a vote of 8-2 she was permanently evicted from the Big Brother house.
John Kirkwood "Jack" Matthews, 29, is a fitness trainer from Chicago, Illinois and living in Tampa, Florida at the time of the season. Jack describes himself as having honesty, integrity, and character; and enjoys CrossFit, photography, and hanging with his dog. In week 2, Jack won Head of Household and the Chaos Whacktivity competition. On Day 31, he was nominated by Cliff for eviction but survived an 8–2 vote against Isabella. On Day 45, Jack was placed on the block again by Jessica. On Day 51, Jack was evicted by a 6–2 vote against Jackson becoming the first member of the jury. He voted for Michie to win.
Jackson Glen Michie, 24, is from Nashville, Tennessee and living in Los Angeles at the time of the season. Jackson describes himself as driven, assertive, and confident, and enjoys exercising, social events, and hunting. On Day 1, he was elected as the Camp Director by a HouseGuest vote. Early in the season, to avoid confusion with fellow houseguest ‘Jack,’ Jackson decided to go by his last name, but after Jack was evicted, occasional use of his last name was still used.
On Day 31, he was nominated for eviction by Cliff. On Day 34, Jackson won the Week 3 Power of Veto competition and removed himself from the block. On Day 45, Jackson was nominated for eviction by Jessica. On Day 51, Jackson survived eviction in a 6–2 vote against Jack. On Day 52, Jackson competed in the first America's Field Trip competition and won. In doing so, Jackson received immunity from eviction for Week 7. On Day 58, Jackson won the Week 8 Head of Household competition.
On Day 99, he won the final Head of Household and used it to evict Nicole. Then, he became the winner of Big Brother 21 by a vote of 6–3, receiving votes from Cliff, Tommy, Christie, Nick, Analyse and Jack.

Jessica Milagros Guzman Sanchez, 37, is a plus-size model from Chicago and living in Oak Park, Illinois at the time of the season. Jessica describes herself as affectionate, charismatic, and creative, and enjoys dancing, painting, and photography. On Day 1, she was one of four houseguests banished by Jackson, the Camp Director. She was the final banished player to re-enter the house, reclaiming her HouseGuest status by not placing last in “The Search for Camp B.B.” banishment competition. On Day 16, Jack nominated Jessica for eviction. On Day 23, Jessica survived the Week 2 eviction with one vote (Jackson) cast against her. On Day 24, Jessica was nominated for eviction by Nick but was saved when Kathryn used the Week 3 Power of Veto on her.
On Day 44, Jessica became Head of Household and nominated Jack and Jackson the following day, paying them back for previously banishing and nominating her. Continuing her winning streak, Jessica also won the Week 6 Power of Veto competition, the first Head of Household to do so on Season 21. Due to Jessica's POV win, she effectively forced Christie's Panic Power (earned during the Whacktivity competition) to prematurely expire without ever being used. On Day 48, Jessica decided to not use the POV, remaining firm on her desire to see Jack evicted. On Day 51, Jack was evicted.
On day 73, Jessica was nominated for eviction by Jackson alongside Christie. Christie was later vetoed off the block, and instead faced Cliff on the first eviction vote of Day 79. Jessica was evicted from the Big Brother house on a unanimous 4-0 decision, becoming the fifth juror of Big Brother 21. She voted for Holly to win.
Kathryn "Kat" Dunn, 29, is a digital marketing executive from Irving, Texas and living in Dallas, Texas at the time of the season. Kathryn describes herself as reliable, hardworking, and fun; and enjoys creating content and producing photo shoots for friends’ social media as well as shopping and being outdoors. Kathryn was nominated by Christie in Week 1. She survived eviction; the house unanimously voted to save her. In Week 3, Kathryn won the Power of Veto and used it to remove Jessica from the block.
In Week 5, Kathryn offered to be the replacement nominee for (ally and HOH) Holly when Nick vetoed himself from the block. A secret plan to have Kathryn backdoored almost saw Sam stay but, ultimately, the HouseGuests unanimously voted to save Kathryn for the second time. In Week 7, Tommy nominated Kathryn for eviction. On Day 58, Kathryn was evicted by a vote of 6–1 against Cliff and became the second member of the jury. She voted for Holly to win.
Olukemi “Kemi” Fakunle 26, is a marketing strategist from Elkridge, Maryland and living in Brooklyn, New York at the time of the season. Kemi describes herself as positive and goal-oriented, and enjoys contributing to the economy, discovering new restaurants, and traveling with her friends. On Day 1, she was one of four HouseGuests banished by Jackson, the Camp Director. She was the second HouseGuest to re-enter the Big Brother House.
On Day 23, Kemi was evicted by a vote of 10–1, but was immediately transferred to Camp Comeback as the third of four HouseGuests who later got to compete for a chance to come back into the game. On Day 30, Kemi lost the competition and was evicted indefinitely.
Nicholas S. "Nick" Maccarone, 27, is a therapist from Sewell, New Jersey. Nick describes himself as outgoing, caring, and talkative, and enjoys playing/watching sports, going to the city to drink/meet women, and working.
In Week 3, Nick won Head of Household and nominated Cliff and Jessica for eviction. After Kathryn vetoed Jessica off the block, Nick nominated Nicole. In Week 5, he was initially nominated by Holly, however he secured the Power of Veto and removed himself from the block.
In Week 9, Holly nominated Nick once again. But he won America's Prankster which gave him the opportunity to name one of Holly's nominations, he chose Christie. He didn't win the veto and was voted out on Day 72 by a vote of 5–0 against Christie and became the fourth member of the jury. He voted for Michie to win.
Nicole Anthony (born December 26, 1994), 24, is a preschool aide from Bohemia, New York. Nicole describes herself as hardworking, determined, and hilarious, and enjoys reading, listening to music, and drawing. After Kathryn vetoed Jessica off the block in Week 3, Nick named Nicole the replacement nominee hoping to backdoor her. Sitting next to Cliff on Day 30, Nicole survived eviction when the Six Shooters alliance decided to blindside Nick and save Nicole in a 6–4 vote. After Cliff won the Camp Comeback competition, Nicole and Cliff reunited their duo and moved forward throughout the rest of the game together. Using her social game, Nicole played an under the radar game to move forward with strong bonds keeping her safe and informed of the state of the game. As part of the Cliff's Angels alliance of herself, Cliff, Kat, and Jessica, Nicole helped vote out Jack. This also helped her form a relationship with Jackson and Holly that eventually led to the formation of a Final 4 deal, also including her closest ally Cliff. When Tommy nominated Cliff and Kat for eviction, Cliff's Angels disbanded due to Kat's eviction and Jessica's defection. Subsequently, Nicole remained safe from the block, but lost her ally Nick and former ally Jessica in back to back weeks. Nicole took an active role in the game at the Final 6 Double Eviction, where she won her first competition to become HOH and nominate secret duo Tommy and Christie, and finally took out Christie. The next week, Nicole won her first veto competition to take Cliff off the block and force HOH Jackson to nominate his showmance Holly, giving Nicole and Cliff total control over the vote. She voted for Holly to win and was named America's Favourite Player.
Ovi A. Kabir, 22, is a college student from Oak Ridge, Tennessee and living in Knoxville, Tennessee at the time of the season. Ovi describes himself as relatable, motivated, and brown, and enjoys rowing, partying, and watching Tennessee Basketball games.
In week 1, Ovi won the Nightmare Whacktivity competition. In episode 4, after Sam vetoed Cliff from the block, Christie named Ovi the replacement nominee. On Day 15, Ovi was the first HouseGuest evicted by a vote of 12–0 against Kathryn. Before Ovi could exit the house, the Camp Comeback twist was introduced and instead of leaving, Ovi moved to a new, secluded room (alongside David) upstairs. On Day 30, the first four evicted HouseGuests living in Camp Comeback competed for a chance to be permanently returned to the game. Ovi lost and was evicted indefinitely and, as such, the Nightmare Power expired with his departure.
Samuel Titus "Sam" Smith, 31, is a truck driver from West Nanticoke, Pennsylvania and living in Mountain Top, Pennsylvania at the time of the season. Sam describes himself as outgoing, bold, and comical, and enjoys riding his R1, playing basketball, and hosting pool parties. On Day 38, following the destruction of the Unde9able alliance, Holly nominated Sam for eviction. On Day 44, Sam, sitting on the block next to Kathryn, was unanimously evicted. Sam was the final pre-jury evictee.
Thomas "Tommy" Bracco, 29, is a Broadway dancer from Staten Island, New York. Tommy describes himself as optimistic, driven, and over-the-top; and enjoys eating Mom's cooking, going to the movies alone, and playing Catan with the family. He originated the role of Spot Conlon in the Broadway musical Newsies, and later returned for the 2017 live recording.
Once the contestants were revealed, fans discovered online that Tommy Bracco was connected to Christie Murphy on social media. It was revealed on the premiere episode that Christie had been in a seven-year relationship with Tommy's aunt, and that they were not entering the house aware of the fact that they'd be competing together.
In Week 7, right after Jack's eviction, Tommy won Head of Household. On Day 52, he nominated Cliff and Kathryn for eviction alongside his ally, Christie, who was a special third nominee due to the America's Field Trip twist. Tommy also won the Week 7 Power of Veto competition and used it to remove Christie from the block. He was not required to name a replacement nominee.
Tommy won the Power of Veto (for the second time) in Week 10 and on Day 76, used the power of Veto on Christie. On Day 79, he was nominated by Nicole in the double eviction alongside Christie, but survived to remain in the house when Christie was evicted by a 3–0 vote. He was eliminated 2–0 against Holly the following week on Jackson's HOH. After the double eviction, Michie won HOH and placed Tommy and Cliff for eviction. Nicole won the Power of Veto and used it on Cliff, forcing Holly to be the replacement nominee. Tommy was evicted with a vote of 2–0, and Tommy being the seventh member of the jury. He voted for Michie to win.
