List of Legends/Icons in FIFA
FIFA is an association football video game produced by Electronic Arts under the label EA Sports. Its first installment was in 1994 as FIFA International Soccer, or more commonly known as FIFA '94.[1]. FIFA quickly grew in popularity after the addition of FIFA Ultimate Team in FIFA 09.[2]. In FIFA 14 EA introduced Legend Cards to their Ultimate Team Mode.[3]. For the first time ever, players could play as some of histories best footballers along side their favorite present players.

FIFA 15 introduced 15 new legends to the game[5]., while removing one, Romario, due to "licensing restrictions", EA announced in a tweet.[6]

FIFA 16[edit]
FIFA 16 added 10 new legends to the title, including the first players to represent the United States of America as legends. This was also the first year that legends got an orange chemistry link to all players in FUT, making it easier to fit them into a team.[7]

FIFA 18[edit]
FIFA 18 a re-branding of the Legends concept takes place, with many legends done away with in favor of "Icons". These "best of the best" Legends each possess 3 versions of their card, varying in both rating and sometimes position, to signify varying points in their legendary careers. New faces, like Thierry Henry and Lev Yashin, were added to the title, while familiar faces, like Marcel Desailly and Laurent Blanc, were kept.[9]

FIFA 19[edit]
EA have confirmed the return of former Legend Fabio Cannavaro for FIFA 19 in a tweet on August 3rd, 2018.[10], as well as the new addition of his Italian counterpart Roberto Baggio[11]. On August 4th, 2018, EA confirmed the addition of Steven Gerrard, Rivaldo, Johan Cruyff, Eusébio, and Frank Lampard.[12] In separate tweets, EA confirmed Clarence Seedorf[13], Claude Makélélé[14], and Raul[15]
