List of Other Backward Classes in Sikhism

Other Backward Classes is a term used in India to denote groups of people who qualify for certain affirmative action schemes operated by the Government of India. These schemes are known as Reservation Benefits.[1] The caste system is liturgically unacceptable to people who practise Sikhism but is nonetheless evident in day-to-day life.[2]
List of Other Backward Classes in Sikhism
- Kumhar Sikh - potters
- Kamboj Sikh - agricultural land owners
- Ramgarhia Sikh - carpenters
- Labana Sikh - traditionally worked in transportation, but now mostly in agriculture
- Lohar Sikh - blacksmiths
