New Zealand fast bowler, Tim Southee, has taken 15 five-wicket hauls in international cricket.

In cricket, a five-wicket haul (also known as a "five–for" or "fifer")[1] refers to a bowler taking five or more wickets in a single innings. This is regarded as a notable achievement,[2] and as of January 2020 only 49 bowlers have taken at least 15 five-wicket hauls at international level in their cricketing careers.[3] Tim Southee, an New Zealand cricketer has taken 15 five-wicket hauls in international cricket.[3][4] A right-arm fast bowler, Southee has played 77 Tests, 143 One Day International (ODI) matches and 75 Twenty20 International (T20I) matches for his country, and has taken 302, 190 and 87 wickets respectively As of January 2021.[4]

Southee made his Test debut against England at McLean Park, Napier on 22 March 2008 and became the 6th New Zealand cricketer to take a five-wicket haul on Test debut, taking figures of 5/55 in the first innings.[5][6] His best figures in Tests is 7/64, taken against India at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru on 31 August 2012.[7]

Southee made his One Day International (ODI) debut against England at the Riverside Ground, Chester-le-Street on 15 June 2008.[8] As of January 2021. His best figures was against the same team in ODIs, taking 7/33 on 20 February 2015 during the 2015 Cricket World Cup.[9][10]

Southee made his Twenty20 International (T20I) debut against England on 5 February 2008 at Eden Park, Auckland.[11] His best figures in T20I is 5/18, taken against Pakistan at the same ground on 26 December 2010.[12]
