List of number-one singles of 2016 in English-speaking countries
Template:NUA
This article lists the number-one singles of 2016 in countries of the English-speaking world, as published by the separate record charts of the included countries. The countries in this list are often grouped as the Anglosphere, due to large proportions of their populations speaking English as a first language. As such, the cultural similarities between Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States[1] can be seen in the chart-topping songs reported by the ARIA Charts, the Canadian Hot 100, the Irish Singles Chart, Recorded Music NZ, the UK Singles Chart and the Billboard Hot 100 respectively.
As of September, the only 2016 singles to top all six charts at the same time are Canadian musician Drake's "One Dance" in May,[2] and American duo The Chainsmokers' "Closer" in September.[3] Earlier in the year, "Love Yourself"[4] and "Pillowtalk"[5] also reached number-one in all six countries, albeit during different weeks.
