LISTEQ is a software company based out of The Netherlands. It provides an end-to-end software stack for Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and Desktops-as-a-Service (DaaS) to help Managed Server Providers (MSPs) deliver desktops to their end-users. LISTEQ was recognized by Forrester Research in the Forrester Wave on Server-Hosted Virtual Desktops (VDI), Q3 2015[3][4] as one of the seven providers that matter most.
History[edit]
LISTEQ was founded in 2012 by Simon Overgaag, Ivo Smits and Leendert van der Plas. Simon Overgaag is the CEO and Ivo Smits is the VP Product Development. LISTEQ started with a MultiSeat product for the educational market, later it focussed more on a Cloud Desktop or DaaS (desktops-as-a-Service) offering. In 2014 LISTEQ exhibited at the HostingCon in Miami (FL)[5] and in 2016 LISTEQ opened their US office.[6]
Products[edit]
LISTEQ Cloud Desktop[edit]
LISTEQ created LISTEQ Cloud Desktop, an end-to-end software stack for DaaS (Desktops-as-a-Service). The software is fully based on VDI technology and runs with the VirtualBox Hypervisor integrated. It included remote client software based on LISTEQ's own proprietary protocol. An end-user can run their own hosted desktop as they were working on a standard physical desktop, plus the benefit of being able to access the hosted desktop from any device, anywhere (BYOD).
Awards[edit]
LISTEQ was recognized by 451 Research for providing a DaaS alternative to SMBs.[7] In 2015 Computable nominated LISTEQ for the Computable awards.[8] LISTEQ was also featured in Ovum’s ‘On the Radar’ report.[9]
Partnerships[edit]
LISTEQ has a technology alliance with Odin and as such is certified for their APS Package.[10] For the Chinese market (with products in the Chinese language) LISTEQ has a cooperation with Polysight Optoelectronics.[11]
Competitors[edit]
LISTEQ's software competes with other VDI/DaaS software vendors, which are primarily Citrix and VMWare. According to IDC, this market segment of the Worldwide Virtual Client Computing Desktop as a Service–Enabling Software (Forecast, 2015–2019) will grow from $376 million in 2014 to $1.4 billion in 2019.[12]
