LISTEQ is a software company based in The Netherlands. It provides a complete software solution for Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and Desktops-as-a-Service (DaaS) to help Managed Service Providers (MSPs) deliver desktops to their end-users. LISTEQ was recognized by Forrester Research in the Forrester Wave on Server-Hosted Virtual Desktops (VDI), Q3 2015[3][4] as one of the seven most important providers.
History
LISTEQ was founded in 2012 by Simon Overgaag, Ivo Smits, and Leendert van der Plas. Simon Overgaag is the CEO, and Ivo Smits is the VP of Product Development. LISTEQ initially developed a MultiSeat product for the education sector, later focusing on Cloud Desktop or DaaS offerings. In 2014, LISTEQ exhibited at HostingCon in Miami (FL)[5], and in 2016, it opened a US office.[6]
Products
LISTEQ Cloud Desktop
LISTEQ created LISTEQ Cloud Desktop, a complete software solution for DaaS (Desktops-as-a-Service). The software is entirely based on VDI technology and integrates the VirtualBox hypervisor. It includes remote client software based on LISTEQ's proprietary protocol. An end-user can operate their hosted desktop as if it were a standard physical desktop, while accessing it from any device, anywhere (BYOD).
Awards
LISTEQ was recognized by 451 Research for providing a DaaS alternative to small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs).[7] In 2015, Computable nominated LISTEQ for the Computable awards.[8] LISTEQ was also highlighted in Ovum's "On the Radar" report.[9]
Partnerships
LISTEQ has a technology alliance with Odin and is certified for their APS Package.[10] For the Chinese market (with products in Chinese), LISTEQ cooperates with Polysight Optoelectronics.[11]
Competitors
LISTEQ's software competes with other VDI/DaaS vendors, primarily Citrix and VMware. According to IDC, this market segment of Worldwide Virtual Client Computing Desktop as a Service–Enabling Software (Forecast, 2015–2019) will grow from $376 million in 2014 to $1.4 billion in 2019.[12]
