Live from Spotify London is the twelfth EP by British rock band Coldplay. It was recorded in the Spotify headquarters, London, in 14 November 2016 and surprise-released through Spotify on 16 December 2016, where it remains a platform exclusive.[1][2]
Background[edit]
Coldplay was named as the most streamed group of Spotify in 2016, they had gained more than five billion streams overall while their seventh studio album, A Head Full Of Dreams (2015), gained over one billion. The five-song EP was to mark the achievement and served as a Christmas gift to fans.[3] The live recording session was announced via the band's Twitter account on 10 November 2016 and a contest to win the tickets started on the same day.[4][5]
