Live in Madrid is the tenth EP by British rock band Coldplay. It was released on 31 October 2011 as a free download on the Google Music website.[1] A second version with five tracks was released through Google on November 30, 2011. The album was recorded on the Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas in Madrid, Spain, during the band's Mylo Xyloto Tour.
Recording[edit]
A premiere concert in Madrid titled Coldplay Live: Unstaged was streamed live on YouTube, with the band performing songs from Mylo Xyloto alongside their previous hits, the live webcast was reported to have been viewed by nearly 20 million viewers.[2] A footage from the concert would later air on 26 October 2011, being watched by nearly 8 million viewers. The show was directed by Anton Corbijn and presented by American Express.[3] The first version of the EP consisted of seven songs, while the second was released without "Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall" and the Tiësto remix of "Paradise" in the tracklist, reducing the running time to 23 minutes and 38 seconds. The band's longtime collaborator Rik Simpson was responsible for producing and mixing the project.
