The president of India is the ceremonial head of state of India.[1] Since the formation of the office in 1950, there have been 14 president of India.[2] This article shows the living presidents of India from the swearing-in of the first president—Rajendra Prashad in 1950, till the present. Currently, in addition to the incumbent president Ram Nath Kovind, there is only one living former president—Pratibha Patil.

There has been one time period with four living presidents (i.e., the incumbent and three former presidents):
- 25 July 1992 to 25 December 1994 – Neelam Sanjiva Reddy, Zail Singh, Ramaswamy Venkataraman, and Shankar Dayal Sharma
There have been four time periods when there was only one living president:
- 26 January 1950 to 13 May 1962 – Rajendra Prasad, who, being the first president, had no predecessors
- 28 February 1963 to 13 May 1967 – Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, after the death of his only predecessor, Rajendra Prasad
- 3 May 1969 to 24 August 1969 – Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, after the death of Zakir Husain, who died in office
- 11 February 1977 to 25 July 1977 – V. V. Giri, after the death of Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed, who died in office
