Fuhr Software is the developer of the queueing and line management software called LobbyCentral. This product is used in government, healthcare, financial institutions, higher education, warehouses, and retail. The company has its headquarters in Columbus, Ohio.
Corporate history[edit]
Founding[edit]
The company was founded in 2005[1] by Jaime Fuhr. Jaime spent most of his early career working for financial institutions. This is when he saw a need for improving customer service and privacy in the lobby. Most financial institutions then and even today used a sign-in sheet to keep track of customers waiting for an employee. Employees were located in offices or cubicals without a direct view to the waiting area. In some cases, customers failed to write down the reason for their visit or had illegible handwriting. These factors created longer than necessary wait times and disproportinate distribution of work. Jaime developed Lobby Manager, a Windows based program that customers could sign into which would then alert the employees. Lobby Manager also displayed a list of waiting and assisted customers. Credit unions were the first to implement Lobby Manager in their service lobbies. LobbyCentral later replaced Lobby Manager in 2006 and became fully cloud based in 2012.
