Lonepsi also named Lindolfo Gargiulo, is a French rapper with Argentinian origins. He is born the 1st of August 1994. In 2015 his project Danger de mot has come out and then in 2017 Les premiers sons du reste de ma vie. Beginning of 2018, he published his EP Sans dire adieu, followed by Kairos. His first album is scheduled for 2020.[1].
Bibliography[edit]
His parents originate from Argentina settled in France around 30 years old. His mother was a psychologist and teacher at University whereas his father was a psychoanalyst [2].
Lonepsi started to be interested in rap during his high school years. At the age of 17 years old, he was inspired by the rap contenders (TV shows broadcasted on YouTube where there are singing battles among rappers). He decided to reproduce them with two of his best friends: Pheno and Cooper, by means of a hi-fi stereo, instrumental and recording microphone. Nowadays he is the only one among his 3 friends to have carried on with rap music.
Later, he has created the group Les Deux Demis with his brother Nuelma with whom he composed freestyles broadcasted on YouTube.
He finally striked out in a single carrier by publishing his new singles on Soundcloud.
In 2015, he released his first EP Danger de Mort [3]. His appearance in Planète Rap of Georgio permitted him to leave the anonymity but this his first single Le loup des Steppes, published in 2017, which made him well known.
In 2017 was also the year he published Les premiers sons du reste de ma vie in which he performed in Les bars en trans, a music festival in Rennes [4]. In 2018, he realised his first EP Sans dire adieu[5] followed by Kairos.
Music style[edit]
He proclaimed that his music style is with difficulty describable. He affirmed however that his work has evolved from a more “ego trip” rap towards a more conscient one. As he masters guitar and piano (since the age of 16), he regularly used these instruments in productions on which he rapped [6]
His writing characterised by a tendency to introspection deals with his feelings and experiences. We can also detect a real liking for literature and poetry to which he regularly refers in his texts such as Le Chien et le Flacon which comes from the same entitled poem from Charles Baudelaire.
