Lord's Football Academy Women, commonly referred to as Lord's FA Women, is an Indian women's football club, based in Kochi, Kerala. It competes in the Indian Women's Leaguehttps:[1][2], the top tier league of women's football in India. The club was founded on 22 July 2022.

Formation[edit]

Lord's FA is a football academy based on Kochi. At 21 July 2022, they announced that they are forming a football club. The next day, they announced that the women's side of the club will be participating in the 2022 season of Kerala Women's League. Their first signing was the Indian midfielder Karthika Angamuthu. Their first foreign signing was the Burmese international Win Theingi Tun. They also signed many other talented players, including former Indian national team captain Indumathi Kathiresan.

On 11 August 2022, the club announced that Amrutha Aravind, the former head coach of the IWL side Sethu FC, will be coaching the team.

Inaugural season[edit]

They played their first ever Kerala Women's League match against Don Bosco FA in 11th August 2022, in which they won 12-2. They have won many matches throughout the season in very high margins, and in the match against Kadathanad Raja FA which happened on 17 September 2022, they won by a giant margin of 32 goals. They were placed second in the group stage, and were qualified for the finals. They won 7 matches, drew and lost one match each, out of the total 9 matches.

They faced Gokulam Kerala in the finals, where they won 5-2, and were crowned the champions in their maiden KWL season. They got promoted to Indian Women's League, and they will be playing in the 2023 IWL season.

Promotion and IWL[edit]

AIFF announced the champions of the twelve state leagues have been awarded a place in the final round along with the clubs which finished in the top four positions in the 2021–22 season.[3] for 2022–23 Indian Women's League season, Lords FA signed two forignes.Made a prominent signing in the form of Philippines star Camille Rodriguez[4] and Nepal International player Anita Basnet.Lords FA won their first match in IWL against Celtic Queens by 4-0 were Camille Rodriguez scores a hatrick [5]
