Louis Cataldie
Louis Cataldie was the Medical Incident Commander for the state of Louisiana, United States.[1]
Cataldie was also involved in running the Find Family National Call Center, also known as the Family Assistance Center, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana as well as the Disaster Mortuary Operational Response Team morgue in Carville, Louisiana.
Cataldie's memoir of his career as a coroner, Coroner's Journal: Stalking Death in Louisiana, was published in 2006.[2]
Cataldie received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Louisiana State University's School of Medicine[3] in New Orleans in 1974. He was able to graduate medical school early through the accelerated graduation program and, together with another graduate, initiated the Family Practice Residency Program at Long Memorial Hospital in Lake Charles, LA. He subsequently moved to an Emergency Medicine residency program at University Medical Center (then Lafayette Charity Hospital) in Lafayette, LA where he and a close friend became renowned figures at the facility.
Cataldie is currently the addictionologist for St. Christopher's Addiction Wellness in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the Cataldie Clinic, and Victory Recovery Center in Lafayette, LA. He is also the medical director for the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.
