Loyola College, Mettala, is a minority Catholic, coeducational college of arts and science founded by Madurai Province of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits)[4] in Tamil Nadu, India, in 2015.[citation needed] It is open to those of all faiths and is particularly dedicated to the education of Catholics and Dalits along with poorer and other marginalised sectors of society.[5] It was founded with the encouragement of the Bishop of the Diocese of Salem.
In 2015 Loyola offered five programs: Bachelor of Arts in English literature, Bachelor in Commerce, Bachelor of Science in physics, in maths,in Chemistry, and in computer science.[2]
The college building is horseshoe shaped and includes men's and women's hostels. The school has a computer lab, library, and 200-person auditorium. Athletic fields are part of the campus.
