Loz Contreras is the stage name of the Leeds-based drum and bass DJ, Lawrence Contreras. He specialises in liquid funk.
Early life
Loz (born Lawrence Elias Contreras) was born in Harrogate, UK. He attended King James's School in Knaresborough. He then went on to Leeds Metropolitan University to study Music Technology (BSc). His DJ career began during his university years.
Career
Loz is a resident DJ at several Leeds drum and bass nights, including Jungle Jam, Overflow, and HighRise.[1] He has been DJing in Leeds for nearly a decade, with his tracks and remixes gaining support across the DnB scene.
In 2012, he was invited by BBC to do a guest mix for 1Xtra and appeared live on the radio show with Crissy Criss.[2]
The release of his debut album 'Better World', alongside production partner Macca on Fokuz Recordings, signifies a continued upward trajectory for Loz. The album features remixes by renowned DnB artists including S.P.Y, Lenzman, and FD.
