Luka Važić (born 1992 in Belgrade, Serbia) is a Serbian computer engineer. Since 2015, he works for Google, Inc. in Mountain View, California.
Education[edit]
Luka Važić studied Information Systems and Technologies at the University of Belgrade from 2011 to 2015. He wrote his Bachelor thesis on a statistical model for breast cancer recognition in mammogram images under professor Boris Delibašić. Prior to that, Luka received education in natural sciences and mathematics at the Zemun Gymnasium.
Work[edit]
Luka first joined Google as a summer intern during his second year of studies in 2013. This was followed by another internship in 2014. Following his thesis defense, Luka moved to Dublin, Ireland in 2015 and worked at Google's Irish office for a little over a year.
In October 2016 Luka relocated to Mountain View, California where he currently resides and works.
Personal life[edit]
In his free time, Luka loves backpacking, hiking, and mountain biking. He's also a paragliding pilot in training.
